There are both thread-cutting and thread-forming self-tapping screws. A thread cutting screw is used to make a threaded hole in metal. This screw cuts away the material and makes a threaded path for the screw. The threaded screws come off when the fastener is taken apart. If this happens, use a self-tapping screw that is a little bit bigger when putting the product back together. As the material goes into a screw that makes plastic threads, it gets bent. Because the thread-forming screw is so deeply embedded in the material, it is possible to tighten the screw too much. This makes it easy for a material to break when put under pressure. Long-term, the best way to stop stripping is to put the metal insert into the material from the start. Then, a screw of the right size can be used to fix and unfasten it without hurting the material. The insert is made to relieve stress before the screw is put in and causes it to grow. There are many different sizes and shapes of heads for self-tapping screws. When choosing the right size self-tapping screw, it's important to consider the length of the screw tip in relation to the thickness of the material. A screw tip that has been drilled should be able to fit. Before you can start threading, you have to completely go through the material. If you don't, the thread will break, and the end result won't be securely fastened.
